We've seen all sorts of adorable and unique knit blankets this year, from chunky oversize knits to colorful unicorn throws and even Disney princess-inspired blankets, but our latest discovery is a real hoot.

Designed with big eyes, cute ears, and a bright beak, this darling piece is both a comfy blanket and athrow pillow designed to look like an owl. The one-of-a-kind fringe blanket was created by Michelle Moore of MJs Off the Hook Designs.

Over on her YouTube channel, Michelle shows us how she created the crochet stitches required to make your very own blanket. First, you'll need to pick up some bulky yarn. (She recommends Bernat Softee Chunky Yarn.)

Once you've got your supplies, you can use one of Michelle's patterns, which come in both child and adult sizes for just $6 on Raveltry. You can also opt to purchase Michelle's $7 online course, which walks you through the project step-by-step. But you don't have to be a pro-knitter to get your hands on one of these cozy throws: You can also purchase pre-made versions on Etsy starting at $45.

There are a ton of other adorable hooded animal blanket tutorials and patterns on Michelle's site, too, including inexpensive patterns for cat, dog, and alligator blankets. Looks like we know what homemade Christmas gift we're making our friends and family this year!
