The Crown Creator Peter Morgan Admits He Gives Buckingham Palace a Heads Up About the Show's Plot Turns
Season 3 of beloved Netflix series The Crown premieres on November 17th. Until then, you can bet we're eager to get our hands on as many interesting tidbits about the series as possible.
One such piece of intel that left us curious for more? The show's creator and writer Peter Morgan recently revealed that he regularly touches base with staff at Buckingham Palace about the series. In a recent piece, Morgan told London's The Times that four times a year he sits down with “people who are very high ranking and very active within the organisation," adding, “[r]espectfully, I tell them what I have in mind and they brace themselves slightly.”
We can't imagine how these employees react to the drama brewed up on the show, but considering the royals once lived it out, we doubt they can contest Morgan's intentions much so long as he strives to portray the royals in a fair, balanced light.
