‘The Crown’ Season 2: Queen Elizabeth Is a Force to Be Reckoned With in New Trailer

Updated

Queen Elizabeth is back and classier sassier than ever in Netflix’s new trailer for The Crown season two.

The trailer takes place during Queen Elizabeth’s (Claire Foy) reign spanning from 1956 to 1963 and previews the fragile (yet revolutionary) monarchy of post-war Great Britain. With Her Majesty’s Armed Forces fighting an illegal war in Egypt, Elizabeth struggles to find a balance between the country’s traditional values and the new “modern era.”

The 150-second clip concludes with a suspenseful montage of scenes all centered around Elizabeth and her plights. First, Elizabeth confronts Prince Philip (Matt Smith); next, she endures a scolding by her uncle, Prince Edward, the Duke of Windsor (Alex Jennings); and finally, she must step up to the plate, er, throne following the downfall of her third prime minister, Harold McMillan (Anton Lesser). The trailer concludes with Elizabeth’s chilling voice saying, “There is no possibility of my forgiving you. The question is, how on earth can you forgive yourself?”

The Crown season two premieres on Netflix on December 8.

Claire Foy 4ever.
