9 ways to add crystals to your daily routine without trying too hard
Crystal healing practices may date back as far as 6,000 years ago, and the precious stones, which many people value deeply, have now found their way into various lifestyle products such as water bottles, jewelry, face creams, body oils, and more.
Within the past few years, the crystal craze has grown. In fact, Etsy recently revealed that during the past year searches within its marketplace for crystal soaps have increased by 57 percent, directly correlating with the e-commerce site’s ethos of “Beauty Positivity,” and myriad Etsy sellers are embracing this belief.
“I think it is really a product of where the world is today; we are realizing that all of the modern technology and the pace of life that we currently live in has its effects on us,” Rashia Bell, crystal healer and founder of interior design firm the Cristalline, tells Yahoo Lifestyle. “We are finding ourselves looking to many ancient traditions, from reiki and acupuncture to infrared saunas, and incorporating them regularly into our life — so it is not surprising that beauty products would be another vehicle.”
Heather Askinosie, co-founder of Energy Muse and co-author of Crystal Muse: Every Day Rituals to Tune Into the Real You, believes there may be a growing interest in crystals because “in a world that’s always go-go-go, crystals give you a way to press Pause. Working with them helps you to be more intentional about your life and bring in what you want.”
For those who may still think the idea of “crystal healing” is bogus, there is scientific research to back up the power of these stones. One of the most popular studies was done by French physicists and brothers Pierre and Jacques Curie. In the late 19th century, the duo discovered that putting pressure on materials such as crystals, ceramics, and bone created electricity. With that, incorporating this kind of energy into your everyday products doesn’t sound like a bad idea if you are looking for a boost.
There are specific crystals that are among the most popular stones integrated into lifestyle products, and it’s for good reason, according to crystal aficionados. Bell explains: “Rose quartz is a stone about self-love and self-care, amethyst is for protection, and tiger’s eye is a stone many of us collected as children, so I think the reason why people are drawn to certain stones is very organic and very different for each individual.” She also advises that aquamarine and sapphire are stones often integrated into products because they both emit soothing energy that can translate into “calming” your skin.
Pacifica Beauty founder and crystal lover Brook Harvey-Taylor has included crystals in some of her product formulations, and she speaks highly about why some folks are naturally drawn to crystals. “Crystals, like flowers, soothe people with their beauty and connection to the earth. Beyond their beauty, the idea of taking better care of one’s self is not only a trend but a lifestyle,” she says.
With that in mind, we have rounded up nine products that may just help make you feel better and channel positive vibes. Scroll through and prepare to be enlightened by some of the best crystal-infused products on the market.
