Dairy Queen Offering Blizzards for Less than a Dollar for 2 Weeks Only
Dairy Queen is proving fall is the best season.
To celebrate the arrival of its fall menu, the dessert chain is selling Blizzards—both new, seasonal additions and classics—for only 85 cents. The discount will be available from Sept. 11 through Sept. 24. As TODAY pointed out, 85 is a special number for DQ, as 1985 marks the year that the Blizzard was invented.
The only catch is it's only valid through the Dairy Queen app. To participate, you have to become a DQ Rewards member and the offer will show up as an option.
This autumn, DQ is introducing seven exciting Blizzard flavors—including the triumphant returns of the fan-favorite Pumpkin Pie Blizzard and the beloved Caramel Fudge Cheesecake Blizzard. Fans will also be able to try the Snickerdoodle Cookie Dough Blizzard, Oreo Hot Cocoa Blizzard, Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Pie Blizzard, Choco Dipped Strawberry Blizzard, and Royal Reese's Fluffernutter Blizzard.
The Snickerdoodle Cookie Dough Blizzard features actual pieces of snickerdoodle cookie dough sprinkled with cinnamon sugar.
The two Reese's Blizzards couldn't be more different, showcasing the variations of the beloved candy. The Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Pie Blizzard features the classic cups and graham cracker pieces, while the Royal Reese's Fluffernutter Blizzard contains chopped peanut butter cups and more peanut butter, mixed with creamy marshmallow fluff.
Meanwhile, the Oreo Hot Cocoa Blizzard is made for the cookie's fans, with Oreo pieces and cocoa fudge, topped with whipped cream. For those who want something simpler but just as delicious, the Choco Dipped Strawberry Blizzard features strawberry and chocolate chunks blended together.
This is the second time this year Blizzard prices were reminiscent of the early '80s, with the chain previously offering 85-cent treats in April.
