Happy (almost) 80th birthday, Dairy Queen! The soft-serve ice cream chain is about to celebrate a milestone birthday on June 22, so obviously they had to release a new creation so delicious, that we would drop what we’re doing just to go get it. Remember that Pi?ata Party Blizzard we first heard about back in January? Well, the time has come.

The Pi?ata Party Blizzard is pink and consists of a blend of DQ’s vanilla soft-serve, cake pieces, cake batter pieces, and icing. It’s topped with a swirl of whipped cream and colorful confetti candy-like bits, according to YouTube channel Melz&Chris who got to try it on June 4.

As you can see in the picture, the Blizzard is reminiscent of a real pi?ata by having a surprise inside. Those pink, blue, and white-speckled stars in the center are actually icing. They’re crunchy on the outside, but soft on the inside, as described on the YouTube video. This sounds like our kind of birthday cake!

The limited-edition Pi?ata Party Blizzard isn’t expected to be around for long. According to one Dairy Queen location, it’ll be available from June 18 to 21. However, we know that at least one location has it available now, so it probably strongly depends on where you’re located. All we know is that we’ll be checking our local spot this month, because this is one Blizzard we refuse to miss.

If you had any doubt that summer 2020 was going to be a full-on party, Dairy Queen is taking the reins to make it happen! Now that we’ve had the last of our Peppermint Hot Cocoa Blizzards, there will apparently be a Pi?ata Party Blizzard.

Instagram account @lynndqs first revealed a photo of the new blizzard at the DQ Expo 2020 in New Orleans this month. According to their description, it’s made up of cake pieces, cake batter pieces, and icing. Blizzards are typically made with vanilla soft-serve, so we’re assuming this one will be the same. The looks alone have this frozen creation living up to its name with the pink base and color specks on top!

Just in time for warm weather, @lynndqs wrote that the new Blizzard will be hitting menus some time in June. The only bad news here is that the Pi?ata Party Blizzard is expected to be a limited-edition offering, but at least you have plenty of time to plan out how many Dairy Queen trips you’ll be taking over the summer — because how can this not be good?

We still have some time before we can get our hands on the Pi?ata Party Blizzard ourselves, but something tells us (maybe the cake pieces, cake batter pieces, and icing?) will be well worth it.
