Dakota Johnson's 'Fifty Shades' style evolution
The world premiere of "Fifty Shades Freed" was last night, wrapping up Dakota Johnson's whirlwind few years of promoting the "Fifty Shades of Grey" trilogy -- and we have big news: She did not wear gray.
In fact, since becoming the face of the franchise in 2015, Dakota Johnson has managed to evade ever promoting the film while wearing any shade of gray.
She's posed by co-star Jamie Dornan's side for three years in sequins, tulle and plunging necklines, but the girl has consciously chosen to avoid gray. Can you blame her?
Although her style has definitely changed a bit over the years, we love the parallels between her very first and very last "Fifty Shades" premiere looks! In 2015, Dakota wore a white gown with a dark lip -- and three years later, she rocked a near-identical ensemble.
The gallery above also includes a shot of Dakota and Jamie at the 2017 Oscars, which is widely considered one of Dakota's worst looks to date. When she picked out that yellow gown, someone probably should've gently suggested trying the gray route for once.
