The first full trailer for the upcoming Suspiria remake is here to haunt your dreams.

The reimagining of Dario Argento's 1977 horror classic stars Dakota Johnson as an American student, Susie, who moves to Berlin to join a prestigious dance academy. She's drawn in by the academy's artistic director Madame Blanc (Tilda Swinton) , but following a series of mysterious disappearances among the students, it becomes clear that something is seriously wrong. Or, per the official logline:

As a darkness builds at the center of a world-renown dance company, its artistic director (Swinton), a young American new to the troupe (Johnson), and a grieving psychotherapist (Lutz Ebersdorf) become entangled in a bloody, sighing nightmare.

Per Variety, an early CinemaCon footage preview included a scene in which a dancer is supernaturally ripped apart in the studio next door to where Johnson is practicing ballet. It's going to be fun for all the family, is what we're saying.

The remake is directed by Call Me By Your Name's Luca Guadagnino, and the cast includes Chlo? Grace Moretz and Mia Goth. Jessica Harper, who played the lead role in the original film, will also appear. Guadagnino, who was Oscar-nominated this year, has referred to the film not as a remake but an "homage to the incredible, powerful emotion I felt when I saw [the original]."

Suspiria's world premiere will take place at the 75th Venice International Film Festival on September 1. Amazon Studios will release the film in New York and LA on October 26, with a nationwide release set for November 2.
