Dakota Johnson Wore $190 Plastic Designer Shoes
The star of 50 Shades Darker, Dakota Johnson, was photographed running errands in Los Angeles on Thursday wearing a cute, casual blue and white jumpsuit. And, as one does, she paired the romper with a pair of $190 plastic Gucci slides.
The shoes, which are from the men’s collection, come in both black and white (she opted for black), with the iconic Gucci red and green stripes across the top. They are made entirely of rubber.
This is not Johnson’s first foray into the not-so-frugal world of Gucci fashion (she counts designer Alessandro Michele as a friend). During the 50 Shades Darker press tour, the daughter of actors Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson sported a stunningly expensive $34,000 fur coat from the designer. From the front, it looked like she was simply channeling some old-world elegance in the luxe, ankle-length fur. (A throwback to her grandmother Tippi Hedren, perhaps?) But when she turned around, well, roar. The pricey coat sported a graphic tiger motif across the back, a signature touch of which Rihanna would surely approve.
However, Hollywood is not completely unaware of how ridiculous designer prices can sometimes seem. Big Bang Theory‘s Kaley Cuoco recently shared a shot of herself wearing a $900 Gucci logo embossed T-shirt, alongside a friend wearing a unique T-shirt of her own — featuring a piece of paper with the logo drawn on.
