Dakota Johnson Wore a Bra Top Under a Blazer on the Red Carpet

If Dakota Johnson has anything to say about it, the bras-as-tops trend is here to stay.

The actress stepped out at the Venice Film Festival on Friday in an all-black ensemble that can only be described as sexy business-chic, pairing a skimpy bra top with a structured Gucci blazer and matching trousers. The Fifty Shades of Grey star finished off the look with a simple necklace and strappy stiletto heels.

Johnson was in Venice for the premiere of her film, The Lost Daughter, in which she stars alongside Olivia Colman. The movie, directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal, is based on the novel of the same name by Elena Ferrante, and also stars Jessie Buckley, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, and Normal People's Paul Mescal.

The story follows a college professor (Colman) who confronts her past after meeting a woman (Johnson) and her young daughter while on vacation in Italy.

"I've always loved Maggie Gyllenhaal's work," Johnson said during a press conference on Friday. "She wanted me to evolve as a person and as an actress. I felt both terrified and safe with her. In the film, she tells a truth no one sees in a special way."
