'Dancing with the Stars' Pro Artem Chigvintsev Will Sit Out Tonight's Episode
Artem Chigvintsev
Artem Chigvintsev will be sitting out tonight's episode of Dancing with the Stars due to coming down with COVID-19. The announcement was made on the official DWTS Instagram page.
"Artem will not be dancing tonight due to COVID. Wishing him a quick recovering!" the post read. It then showed a photo of his celebrity partner, former Bachelorette Charity Lawson, posing with Ezra Sousa. The troupe member will fill in as Artem's replacement for the evening.
Charity is looking to keep a streak going after she and Artem made a strong showing in last week's premiere. Their Tango to "Only Girl (In the World)" by Rihanna had netted a 22 from the judges. That put them at the top of the leaderboard up against some stiff competition, including Vanderpump Rules cast member and former dancer Ariana Madix and musician Jason Mraz (both of whom finished a point behind her).
Of course, this is far from the first time a pro has had to miss out on a week due to illness. This time last year, during Week 2 of Season 31, Daniella Karagach had to sit out due to a COVID diagnosis. At that time, Daniella had to sit out the next week as well while in recovery. It's unknown as to whether Artem may have to miss more time.
Next, here's everything to know about Dancing with the Stars season 32.
