Daniel Radcliffe Defends Meghan Markle Against Negative Treatment by the Press
Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe discussed the media's negative treatment of Meghan Markle in a new interview.
Radcliffe, who was propelled into the public eye as a young actor, explained, "I feel terrible for Meghan Markle."
Another celebrity has defended Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, following her revelation that enduring public scrutiny as a member of the royal family has been incredibly challenging.
Daniel Radcliffe discussed Meghan Markle during an interview with People Now. The actor, who played the role of Harry Potter from a very young age, explained, "I don't take a huge interest [in the royals]," but noted that it was impossible to ignore how Duchess Meghan had been treated. He revealed, "I feel terrible for Meghan Markle."
Radcliffe said that he'd been "picking up that Meghan Markle is being treated to the full force of the British media."
He also said that he had the utmost respect for the duchess' relationship with Prince Harry: "That's why I always thought their relationship was sweet. Because I was like, 'She must love you, if she wants to get involved in this crazy life.' It must be insane."
Pointing out that he's not the biggest royal family fan, Radcliffe explained, "So while I'm not into the institution of the monarchy, I have a huge amount of respect and empathy for [the royal family]."
Radcliffe is far from the only star throwing their support behind Duchess Meghan. In a recent interview with The Guardian, supermodel Naomi Campbell said, "I don’t know how Meghan Markle deals with this and I’m really glad she’s taken action to defend herself."
