Danny Masterson's Wife Files for Divorce Following His Prison Sentencing

Bijou Phillips, the longtime wife of disgraced That '70s Show alum Danny Masterson, has officially filed for divorce.

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Phillips filed to end her marriage to the embattled actor in a California court on Monday, Sept. 18.

Her attorney, Peter A. Lauzon, also confirmed the news to the outlet, revealing that his client "has decided to file for divorce from her husband during this unfortunate time."

As Parade previously reported, Masterson was recently sentenced to 30 years to life in prison by a Los Angeles judge after being convicted on two counts of rape back in May. The actor is believed to have assaulted the two women at his Hollywood Hills home between 2001 and 2003.

Masterson, 47, and Phillips, 43, have been married since October 2011, and in 2014, they welcomed a child together, a daughter named Fianna.

"This period has been unimaginably hard on the marriage and the family," Phillips' attorney stated to TMZ. "Mr. Masterson was always present for Ms. Phillips during her most difficult times of her life."

"Ms. Phillips acknowledges that Mr. Masterson is a wonderful father to their daughter," Lauzon added, noting that Phillips' priority remains with the pair's 9-year-old daughter.

The news of Phillips' filing comes just days after a source insisted that Phillips would be sticking by her husband, with "no plans" to file for divorce.

Despite having "a very difficult time since the conviction,” the source said that "she will be by his side for it all"—though it appears that something must have changed since then.
