Danny Trejo, best known for his roles in Machete and From Dusk 'Till Dawn, just became a real life action hero. The 75-year-old actor witnessed a road collision in Sylmar, Los Angeles on Wednesday, which resulted in one car being completely overturned. Trejo noticed that there was a very young child trapped inside, and along with another bystander, helped get him out to safety.

"The lady in the front seat was pinned, and she kept screaming 'my baby, my baby'," Trejo told ABC7. "So I went to the back seat and me and some guy that was there pulled open the back door, because it was stuck."

Trejo then tried his best to keep the little boy calm, after noticing that he had special needs. "I kept facing him away from the accident and just talking to him," he said, adding that he knew what to do as he has experience working with special needs children. "He was panicked. I said OK we have to use our superpowers. So he screamed 'superpowers' and we started yelling 'superpowers.' I said do this, with the muscles. He said 'muscles.'"

The female driver, the little boy's grandmother, was then extracted from the wreck by firefighters and reunited with her grandson. They were both, luckily, uninjured.

The accident occurred when a driver ran a red light and hit the car, said Trejo, who was glad that he was there, in the right place at the right time, to offer his assistance. He might have something of a tough guy persona in the movies, but Trejo claims that helping others and being there for other people is incredibly important to him.

"Everything good that has happened to me, has happened as a direct result of helping someone else," he said. "Everything. And that's the way I live."
