This Kristin Bell and Dax Shepard tweet isn't funny — it's sexist and unfair
Dax Shepard is living a fasionista’s worst nightmare: He is being called out for wearing the same navy blue button-up shirt on three separate television appearances.
“I love that Kristen Bell changed her outfit for each press appearance and Dax Shepard was like, ‘Nah, this blue shirt works,'” tweeted a writer at People Magazine, along with three screenshots of Shepard in the shirt in question — on The Rachael Ray Show, The View and The Today Show — in February and March. Shepard appeared on several talk shows to discuss his marriage and new business venture with The Good Place actress Kristen Bell.
The tweet has garnered well over 5,000 likes and sparked a conversation about the imbalanced ways in which men and women’s clothing is publicly evaluated.

The fear of repeating an outfit — or worse, someone noticing— is something that many women can especially relate to. And according to a study conducted by Hubbub, a London-based sustainability organization, 41 percent of all 18- to 25-year-olds feel pressure to wear a different outfit every time they go out, largely because of social media. However, the laid-back Shepard seems as if he couldn’t care less, replying to the viral post tweeting, “Word.”
One Twitter user shot back, “Less about you and more about unfair social standards but still lol.”
Although Shepard tried to brush off the criticism, citing Bell’s interest in fashion, other users pointed out that if he were a woman wearing the same top, the public’s reaction would be more critical.
Yeah because media will immediately start criticising "oh she wore the same outfit". Men don't have this problem

Several users referenced an Australian news anchor who wore the same suit every day for a year to see if his audience would notice — and not one person said a thing.
“I’ve worn the same suit on air for a year — except for a couple of times because of circumstance — to make a point,” said the personality, Karl Stefanovic, in an interview with Fairfax Media. “No one has noticed; no one gives a shιt. But women, they wear the wrong color and they get pulled up.”
However, other users came to Shepard’s defense, citing the “unbelievable pressure” put on men to not clash with their partner’s outfits. “I’m proud he made the brave decision to throw fashion to the wind and go with the mutest blue possible,” one Twitter user replied.
Meanwhile, another observer joked that the blue shirt may be one of few in the laid back actor’s dress shirt collection.
Based on his IG he pretty much lives in overalls, so there's a chance this is it for his dress shirt collection.

Regardless of what the public thinks, Shepard remained blasé about his fashion faux pas.
“It’s not that deep. She loves wearing lots of different outfits. She’s very into fashion. I’m not,” Shepard tweeted.

There’s unbelievable pressure on Dax to ensure that his shirt doesn’t wash-out or clash with Kristen’s outfits. I’m proud he made the brave decision to throw fashion to the wind and go with the mutest blue possible.

It's like we get a shirt that we love so we wear the heck out of it for a month straight.
