Here are the days you can attend and celebrate at 2024 Fiesta Topeka
Topeka Fiesta, an annual celebration of Mexican culture and food, will take place next week on the grounds of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 201 N.E. Chandler.
Marisol Marcelo, publicity chair, said Fiesta Topeka has been going on for 91 years, which is a testament to the community support organizers have received.
"It would not be possible without our sponsors who help with monetary donations in different ways. The community seems to have really embraced it," Marcelo told The Capital-Journal. "(They) have embraced the culture by supporting it whether it be volunteering or a monetary donation or even just bringing their family out and getting involved."
What is the Fiesta Topeka parade route? When is the Coronation Ball?
Prior to the annual celebration, a parade will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday along S. Kansas Avenue.
The route will begin on S. Kansas Avenue and S.E. 5th Street. It will go south on S. Kansas Avenue to S.E. 9th Street, turn west onto S.E. 9th Street and then go west to S.W. Jackson Street. Participants will then travel north to S.W. 6th and Jackson, where the parade will end.
A coronation ball for Fiesta Topeka's king and queen candidates will be at 7 p.m. in Landon Arena at the Stormont Vail Events Center, 1 Expocentre Drive. A dance will follow from 8 p.m. to midnight. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $15 per person or $25 per couple. Doors are expected to open at 6:15 p.m.
When will Fiesta Topeka officially begin?
The main event Fiesta Topeka will be July 16-20.
Throughout the week, live entertainment from bands, dancers, singers and more will take place at two different sites the fiesta — the main stage and "street stage.
At 5 p.m. Tuesday, Mike "DJ Khadi" Ramos will kick off the fiesta with tunes on the street stage. A tortilla rolling contest will follow at 5:30 p.m.
Grupo Folklorico del Sol will kick off the entertainment at 7 p.m. on the main stage. Las Estrellas will follow at 9 p.m.
Carnival rides will also be available at the site, as well as food sales.

The annual golf tournament at Cypress Ridge Golf Course, 2533 S.W. Urish Road, will be July 19.
The fiesta's art and car shows will be July 16-20.

What Fiesta Topeka events have already occurred?
The celebration kicked off with a mini fiesta July 6 at Evergy Plaza in downtown Topeka, followed by a 5K Run and Walk for all age groups.
A pickleball tournament was June 8-9 with a cornhole tournament on June 22.
What does the forecast predict for the Fiesta Topeka week?
The Old Farmer's Almanac predicts weather conditions to be sunny and warm with thunderstorms turning cool.
AccuWeather predicts temperatures from July 16-19 to range from 87 to 98 degrees, with low precipitation and a mostly sunny sky. A few morning showers are expected Wednesday.
