'Deadpool 3' Screenwriters Teases "Fish-Out-Of-Water" Story
Screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick recently teased new details regarding the plot of Deadpool 3.
The two screenwriters told Post Cred Pod, "I think it presents a wonderful opportunity for fish-out-of-water. Deadpool is a lunatic at the center of a movie. Usually, the lunatics are the supporting characters and the protagonists are reasonably sane. Our movie's flipped. To drop a lunatic into a very sane world, it's straight butter. It's going to be really fun."
The word "fish-out-of-water" was used to describe the upcoming sequel, implying that they will have a lot of fun with it, especially with the fact that Deadpool is aware of the new universe he is in. During an interview for his latest work featuring Chris Hemsworth, Spiderhead, Reese teased, "The MCU is an amazing sandbox to play in. We'll throw lots of cliches as well because we're giving it 110% man or taking it one day at a time. It's the Bull Durham thing. Like we're taking it one day at a time. We can't divulge details but suffice it to say that when Ryan and Paul and I are on Zoom together, we are cackling. So, it's pretty fun."
The upcoming Deadpool installment will become the first-ever R-Rated movie under Disney; as previously confirmed by the duos, the film will not be any less explicit despite the change of production studio. Upon having the first two movies developed under 20th Century Fox, the acquisition by Disney means that Deadpool will be a part of the MCU.
