Dean Unglert Explains Why He Doesn't Think Colton Underwood Should Be 'The Bachelor'
Many in Bachelor Nation disagreed with ABC's choice of Colton Underwood as the next Bachelor, and Dean Unglert is apparently one of those people.
"You know, [he's] a little young. He's younger than me," Unglert told Entertainment Tonight at the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Festival last Friday. "He might be more advanced in his life than I am, but I don't necessarily see him marrying the woman that he chooses... I don't think he knows exactly what he wants."
Unglert may be referring to Underwood's time on the most recent season of Bachelor in Paradise, in which he went back and forth about his feelings for Tia Booth and was also unsure whether he was totally over Bachelorette Becca Kufrin.
However, Unglert is no stranger to controversy himself (remember that time he was in a love triangle with Danielle Lombard and Kristina Schulman?), so he's able to see that there is a good side to Underwood. He's just "not my Bachelor," Unglert told ET.
"He's a very nice person... He's well-intentioned," he added. "He is beautiful. I just think it's going to be a dumpster fire."
Unglert is not the only man in Bachelor world to be unsure of ABC's pick. Ben Higgins, who was The Bachelor on Season 20, and Nick Viall, the Season 21 Bachelor, shared with ET why the 25-year-old virgin may not be prepared for what's to come.
"I think we're going to see him struggle," Higgins told Entertainment Tonight. "I think it's going to be a very authentic journey of, like, struggling, success, failure, lot of tears. The problem is, he's pretty indecisive."
“Colton, by his own admission, has mentioned that he's got a very limited dating life. I'll be interested to see how that kind of plays out in the season," Viall added. "I'm not specifically talking about his virginity and things like that, but just dating in general, and to Ben's point, he does have to be decisive.”
