Warm, fluffy hotcakes serve as the bedrock of an immaculate breakfast and now thanks to Trader Joe’s, we don’t even have to wait for Cracker Barrel to fire up the griddle.

With the staggering amount of goods available, you might be asking yourself: what could they possibly come up with next? Though most of the chatter surrounds limited-edition and seasonal products at the moment, the latest addition to the retailer’s frozen section has generated an almost viral buzz. The product in question? Three words: Dutch Griddle Cakes.
Similar to its thinner cousin, griddle cakes are made with almost identical ingredients and mostly differ in height. The lofty nature of the delicacy lends to a slightly chewier texture, which makes these crumpet adjacent delights the perfect hearty addition to your breakfast table.

It’s no surprise that word of the new product sent fans into a frenzy and at just $3.49 for an 8-pack, we can clearly see why. And thanks to the incomparable Kelsey of @traderjoesfoodreviews, we got a comprehensive review of the hotcakes.
In a review posted to Instagram, Kelsey gave these a solid "9/10" rating to which she proclaimed, “I loved these!” It seems the only knock for the item in question was that “they got a tad soggy” when preparing them in the microwave, but opting to use the oven or air fryer is an easy fix to the problem.

The post racked up more than 100 comments and commenters all expressed the same sentiments as Kelsey. “10/10 ??,” said one person, while another empathically agreed, “These are soooooooo goooodddd ??????.” Though most users kept it simple and enjoyed the griddle cakes with syrup, a few took things a step further to create their own concoction.
“I made a little sandwich using these and a chicken sausage patty!” shared one user. “10/10 paired it with Trader's chicken breakfast sausage and hash browns with an egg and boysenberry jelly to make my own McGriddle,” chimed in another. A few even recommended a dupe for a yet-to-reemerge fan-favorite product and we just might have to make two trips. “Get the maple butter at Aldi, exact dupe.”
Fortunately, the freezer find is still available, but if social media is any indication, that may not be the case much longer.
