There’s a lot to "choc" about this time of year, and if you’re a card-carrying chocoholic, then this is your season. Everything seems to be coated, dipped and dusted with chocolate around the holidays — and we’re not complaining in the slightest. Whether it’s a decadent black forest cake or double chocolate cookies, nothing beats the sweet cocoa-y delights that the festive months bring.
Tradition dictates baking at least once during the cooler months, but sometimes, we just don’t have the will or the skill to do so. And for that, we turn to our favorite grocers for ready-to-go products that require nothing more than a spoon to enjoy. We’re sure Santa would agree that fan-favorite grocer Aldi makes his job just a bit easier, and the chain hasn’t slowed down when it comes to delivering outstanding products at great prices.

From its highly recommended chocolate section to stunning gifts for everyone on your list, there’s not much the retailer hasn’t put its stamp on. Of course, there’s always room for just one more thing, and the German-based chain recently stocked up on a chocolatey dessert fans are raving about. Specially Selected Chocolate Mousse Cups made their way to stores, and shoppers are buying six at a time.

The seasonal dessert comes in a set of two and features a rich, layered cup full of creamy chocolate mousse, chocolate cookie crumbles, chocolate sauce and chocolate shavings. A dessert this decadent would normally fetch an equally indulgent price at a restaurant, but at Aldi, it’ll only set you back about $4! And if the indulgent taste isn’t enough, each dessert comes encased in shot glass you can use beyond its initial inception.
A post by Witness_Original on the dedicated Aldi subreddit gave users a space to share their thoughts on the treat, and the resounding sentiment was, “Addicting af.”

“They are soooooo good!!!” said one person. “Picked up six, friend loves the glasses too! They are delicious,” agreed another.
Aside from admiring the contents, a few users gave ideas for what to use the empty glasses for once you’ve enjoyed the sweet interior. “The little glass jars make perfect little tea light holders. ??” one user recommended. “Beware, if you use the glasses as shot glasses they hold about 100ml or a tad over a triple shot lol,” cautioned someone else.
Whatever you decide to do with the leftover jars, (and we’re sure you’ll have plenty) there’s no reason not to check your local Aldi to get your hands on a couple. If chocolate isn’t your thing, the retailer also offers a caramel option to satisfy your sweet tooth.
