When you spend your mornings on-the-go, finding a reliable breakfast option is of the utmost importance, which is why establishments like Starbucks are so popular. But when it comes down to it, spending money every morning at your local drive-thru can come with its own serious set of downsides, leading to the inevitable tightening up of your weekly budget. So what do you do as an alternative to dropping $5 to $10 dollars every morning? Well, take a trip to your local Costco, of course.

Spotted by the helpful insiders at Costco Hot Buys, the popular membership warehouse club just stocked its freezers with an excellent breakfast alternative to your morning drive-thru routine. If you were already a fan of the Starbucks Double Smoked Bacon Cheddar and Egg Sandwich, the Kirkland Signature Breakfast Sandwich is here to blow your preferences out of the water.

Available in an 8-pack for just $15.99, these little breakfast sandwiches are basically a direct dupe of the popular Starbucks breakfast menu item. Each sandwich is made up of a spiral butter croissant topped with applewood smoked bacon, egg and cheddar cheese, and only costs about $1.99 per sandwich.

When compared to the Starbucks alternative, Kirkland’s breakfast sandwiches contain only 23 grams of fat, 390 calories and 5 grams of sugar, whereas the Starbucks sandwich contains 27 grams of fat, 500 calories and 8 grams of sugar. In addition, each Starbucks sandwich will cost you $5.45 in store, making the Kirkland Signature option a no-brainer for those looking to save a little money ahead of the holidays.

One shopper, who doubles as a fan of Starbucks’ double smoked bacon sandwich, was quick to point out the benefit of the new Kirkland breakfast option. “I see what you did there,” they said before continuing, “good because that double smoked bacon is always sold out!”

While a lot of the feedback online seems to be in favor of Costco’s newest breakfast offering, some shoppers did appear to be a bit concerned over some of the ingredients. “Sixty percent of your daily saturated fat, yikes,” noted one concerned shopper while another exclaimed, “They gotta be good…all them calories.”

In any case, if breakfast sandwiches are your jam and you don’t have enough time in the morning to chef up your own personalized option, Costco is there to have your back. You can save money while enjoying a tasty breakfast before you even leave your house in the morning.
