Demi Lovato Agreed to Go to Rehab Upon Release From the Hospital This Week
Demi Lovato will be entering rehab after she is released from the hospital in the coming days, TMZ is reporting. Multiple sources told the outlet that the singer agreed to enter treatment after being hospitalized for an apparent overdose last Tuesday. Her family raised the issue to her, TMZ reports, after holding off initially while Lovato recovered.
Lovato has remained in hospital care for over a week, due to complications from the overdose, TMZ, People and Entertainment Tonight independently reported. Lovato was "experiencing nausea and fever," a source told ET.
“Demi wasn’t doing well over the weekend,” another source detailed further to People. “She came down with a fever and showed signs of an infection. She is currently being treated for issues that are very common after a drug overdose. She will need to stay in the hospital for a few more days, but is expected to make a full recovery.”
Lovato is about to be released, per TMZ. "She's getting out any day now," a source told the outlet. Multiple sources said there would be no transition period; Lovato will go straight from the hospital to a live-in rehab facility, the location of which is unknown.
