Demi Lovato, being the icon that she is, found the most clever way to celebrate her stretch marks. One word: Glitter! Yep, she painted her stretch marks with gold glitter in order to reclaim the beauty of what society often deems as a "flaw." In a recent Instagram post, she shared a series of photos, and candidly wrote about her eating disorder recovery.

"I used to genuinely believe recovery from an eating disorder wasn’t real. That everyone was faking or secretly relapsing behind closed doors," she began. "'Surely she throws up here and there', she can’t POSSIBLY accept her cellulite'... those we’re just a few of the things that I used to tell myself growing up. I’m so grateful that I can honestly say for the first time in my life - my dietitian looked at me and said 'This is what eating disorder recovery looks like.'"

Demi has previously spoken about battling bulimia ever since she was a teenager. She revealed that when she was starring on the Disney Channel show, Sonny With a Chance, she was actually really sick. “I had an eating disorder and I was underweight and freezing… I would have people over for meetings on my lunch breaks because that’s how much I worked," she explained during a cast virtual reunion. "People would come in, I’d be covered in a blanket, and people would say, ‘Why is it 80 degrees in here?’ I was like, ‘Because I’m freezing.’ They would be like, ‘Oh my god, what’s wrong with you?’”

It's so encouraging to know that Demi is in a much better place now and is embracing her body while working to stay healthy. "I started wearing actual glitter paint on my stretch marks to celebrate my body and all of it’s features (whether society views them as good OR bad) My stretch marks aren’t going away so might as well throw a lil glitter on em’ amiright? ???," she continued. "Also let this be a reminder to anyone who doesn’t think it’s possible: IT ACTUALLY IS ???????????? YOU CAN DO IT. I BELIEVE IN YOU."

Love, you Demi.
