Demi Moore Stops Us in Our Tracks in Eccentric Asymmetrical Gown on the Red Carpet
Demi Moore
Demi Moore must have known her beautifully eccentric red carpet look would get people talking when she attended FX’s FEUD: Capote Vs. The Swans premiere on Tuesday.
The St. Elmo’s Fire actress arrived at the New York City premiere wearing an asymmetrical black and white sequined gown. The strapless dress had a swirl of white lines that started at the waist and swooped all the way to the ground. The gown doubled down on the swan theme with what looked like white and black fabric feathers popping out around the right side of her chest.
Moore, 61, shared a few photos of herself posing before the premiere, writing on Instagram that it was “only fitting” for her to wear the swanlike Balmain dress. She added a white swan emoji to her photo caption, a nod to the name of the second installment of Ryan Murphy’s FEUD anthology series.
Some of the photos Moore shared with fans on social media also showed the star posing with her chihuahua, Pilaf. In one adorable snapshot, Moore smiles as she clutches Pilaf to her chest and gives the camera a thumbs-up. In another, she holds the dog just beneath her face as she looks directly into the camera, her long black hair draping behind her back like a curtain.
Murphy’s eight-episode miniseries explores Truman Capote’s relationships with high-society women, whom the author called “swans,” and the backlash to his writing about them. Laurence Leamer documented that unraveling in Capote’s Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era, the book that Murphy’s show is based on.
Moore, who plays Ann “Bang-Bang” Woodward in the series, stars alongside Molly Ringwald, Naomi Watts and Diane Lane, among others. Capote is portrayed by Tom Hollander. The show is set to premiere January 31 on FX and Hulu.
