Evan Ellingson
More details have emerged related to former child star Evan Ellingson's death.
TMZ reports that the 35-year-old's passing is being investigated as a possible overdose. Law enforcement sources told the tabloid that drug paraphernalia was found in his home, where the late CSI Miami star was found dead on Sunday, Nov. 5.
The sources noted that the pending toxicology report results will "determine how the investigation will proceed." That is, if drugs are found to have been the cause of death, officials will likely investigate where they came from.
TMZ was the first outlet to break the news of Ellingson's passing. His body was discovered in his San Bernardino Country home's bedroom. His father, Michael, told the publication that Ellingson was residing in a sober living home. The dad also noted that Ellingson struggled with drug addiction in the past, but had been in the process of recovery lately.
A day after his passing, Ellingson's My Sister's Keeper costar Abigail Breslin penned a touching tribute, remembering her on-screen brother. She wrote, "Evan was a genuinely thoughtful person who cared so much about turning in the best performance, which he accomplished."
Her message continued, "I didn’t keep in touch a lot with him after the film, but he always stayed in my mind as a wonderful and sweet soul, one I am grateful to have crossed paths with."
Ellingson's last role was in CSI Miami as Kyle Harmon. His final appearance in the crime drama was in 2010.
