Details on July Fest, blueberry picking and other events this weekend in Binghamton

If you and your family are looking for something to do this weekend, we've got you covered.

There are plenty of things to do in the Binghamton area, especially during the summer season.

Check out the local pools, seasonal farmers markets, and outdoor dining when the sky is clear. This weekend, come out and support local artists, businesses and festivals. According to the National Weather Service, it will be another weekend of high temperatures, with Friday sunny with a high of 85 degrees, 89 degrees on Saturday and 91 degrees on Sunday.

If do plan on heading outside, make sure you are staying hydrated and finding ways to keep cool.

Here are a just some of the events happening this weekend:

Friday, July 12

  • Every Friday Iron Agave will host Salsa Nights Latin Dance Party from 9 p.m. to closing. Geraldo Iglesias will be offering salsa dance lessons from 8-9 p.m. You must be 18 or older to enter and 21 to drink.

  • If you missed the first night, Family Fun Night at the Conklin Fair is hosted on Friday, with live music from Paul Noyd and Short Change, rides, games and food. $30 for ride wristbands, individual ride tickets are also available. There is no entry fee and free parking will be available.

  • Panchos Caribbean Kitchen on Robinson Street in Binghamton will have all the vibes with tunes by DJ EZZ from 10 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.

  • July Fest, downtown Binghamton's arts, crafts and music festival returns Friday, opening at 10 a.m. with arts and crafts, followed by music beginning at noon. The festival closes at 11 p.m. Friday. For more information and the full performer lineup, visit julyfestbinghamton.com.

Saturday, July 13

  • Healthy Lifestyles Coalition will be hosting a free Karate Class with Fairbanks Karate, from 12:30-1:30 p.m.  Address: 108 Liberty St., Binghamton

  • This Saturday, Ross Park Zoo will be having a Sundae Safari fundraiser offering a variety of creative sundaes from non-dairy options topped with jelly beans to vegan options like the Peacock Paradise. Gates will be open at 5 p.m. ticket sales end at 7 p.m. All proceeds will go to supporting the animals of Ross Park Zoo. Children 2 and under get in free, $10 for members, and $15 for non-members.   • Gary's Berries will begin their U-Pick season Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., offering blueberries for $5.30 a pound. The fields are handicap accessible with on-site parking. If you plan on coming out to get some fresh blueberries bring cash or checks. Address: 5603 state Route 17C, Endicott

  • Support local veterans at CVMA 19-10 Waverly at Cars & Bikes at Otsiningo Park 2024. Open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., pre-registration is $20 and can be purchased is available at carshowpro.com/event/1721. Admission is $25 at the door.

Sunday, July 14

  • American Civic Association will be hosting a Palestine Cultural Festival this Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. Learn about the history of Palestine, grab a plate of free food, and see authentic Palestinian original art.
