'Devil Wears Prada' Cast Reunites to Mark Major Anniversary of the Film
Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt
The Devil Wears Prada is officially old enough to vote, and to celebrate the movie's milestone, a few of its original cast members reunited at the 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Among those who participated in the mini-reunion in honor of the cult-classic film turning 18 this year included Meryl Streep, 74, Anne Hathaway, 41, and Emily Blunt, also 41.
The three ladies–who portrayed fictional fashion editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly, personal assistant Andrea Sachs and senior assistant Emily Charlton, respectively–joined forces to present Jeremy Allen White with the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series for his work in Hulu's The Bear during the Saturday, Feb. 24 awards show.
Other nominees in the category included Brett Goldstein (Ted Lasso), Bill Hader (Barry), Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso), and White's co-star Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear).
The trio should have earned an award themselves, as the staged performance had Streep nodding to her powerful position as Priestly, forgetting the most essential items–her glasses and the winning envelope–walking into the microphone and requiring her assistants' help to present the award.
That's not all for the Devil Wears Prada this year, as Vanessa Williams is set to revive Streep's character in the upcoming musical adaptation of the project composed by Elton John. Those looking to catch the performance this fall will have to buy a ticket overseas, as according to Variety, the production will be held at London's Dominion Theatre in London's West End in Oct. 2024. There will also be a preview engagement sometime over the summer at Theatre Royal Plymouth.
