Dinosaur fun! Jurassic Quest experience coming to Canton Memorial Civic Center
CANTON ? Kids and families will have an opportunity to step back in time and experience the wonder of dinosaurs later this year.
The interactive dinosaur-themed experience Jurassic Quest is coming to Canton Memorial Civic Center on Sept. 20-22.
The event "provides unforgettable adventure, transporting families through 165 million years of the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods to roam among true-to-life versions of the creatures that once ruled the Earth," a news release said. "... Jurassic Quest is filled with hands-on activities, education and fun for kids of all ages."
Since 2013, Jurassic Quest has entertained more than 10 million people in more than 250 cities across the United States and Canada. The tour includes stops this summer in Texas, Florida, South Carolina, Alabama, Maine and West Virginia.
General admission and kids standard admission tickets cost $22. Kids Ultimate Admission tickets cost $36. Children under age 2 are admitted free.
What does Jurassic Quest feature?
Jurassic Quest, part of Family Quest Entertainment, will include:
A "lifelike, scientifically-accurate dinosaur herd."
Dinosaur shows
"The largest rideable dinosaurs in North America."
Interactive science and art activities, including a giant fossil dig.
A fossil exhibit featuring T-Rex teeth, a triceratops horn and life-size dinosaur skull.
A soft play area for young children.
Bounce houses and inflatable attractions.
There will be an interactive raptor training experience. Children also can meet and pet interactive baby dinosaurs, including Cammie the Camarasaurus, Tyson the T-Rex and Trixie the Triceratops.
Families can go on a self-guided scavenger-style hunt while learning about dinosaurs. Attractions also include a video tour featuring the dinosaur trainers Safari Sarah, Dino Dustin, Prehistoric Nick and Park Ranger Marty.
"The Jurassic Quest Herd: Jurassic Quest works in collaboration with leading paleontologists to ensure each dinosaur is painstakingly replicated in every detail, from coloration to teeth size, to textured skin, fur or feathers, drawing on the latest research about how we understand dinosaurs looked and moved," said a news release from Jurassic Quest.
Dinosaurs are grouped in realistic scenes in the correlating eras.
