Disney Just Announced When the ‘Star Wars' Theme Park Lands Will Open, and It's Not That Far, Far Away
Just in time for the release of Solo: A Star Wars Story, we have official confirmation about when Galaxy’s Edge, the new Star Wars theme park land coming to Disneyland and Disney World, will arrive.
Via a new promo video, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has been cleared for arrival at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, for the summer of 2019, while Disney World in Orlando, Florida, will get a late autumn 2019 opening date.
Both parks will channel the planet Batuu, a “remote outpost on the galaxy’s edge that was once a busy crossroads along the old sub-lightspeed trade routes”where park-goers will have the chance to choose sides: the Resistance or the First Order. There will be two major rides—taking control of the Millennium Falcon à la Han Solo and an adventure that “puts guests in a climactic battle” between storm troopers and Resistance fighters.
Call C-3PO: We need to clear our calendar for summer 2019, stat.
