Disney Is Selling a Gorgeous Spicy 'Milk' At Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Though 2020 will likely bring a (welcome, needed) break from new Star Wars movies, that doesn’t mean there aren’t other ways to spend some time in a galaxy far, far away. Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge park has been a hit since it opened in 2019, and the area’s sci-fi theme has played out not just in terms of rides, but with its snacks as well.

However, it’s hard to say if even the most die-hard Star Wars or Disney fan is ready for the newest drink at Galaxy’s Edge, which can perhaps be interpreted as… spicy milk.

Well, maybe that’s selling what Disney is calling “The Toydarian Swirl” a bit short. In essence, this drink features “green milk with swirls of savory chili lime seasoning and mango jelly,” according to a Disney description quoted by Instagrammer @Disneyland24Seven.

At this point, you’re probably wondering just what “green milk” is. As it turns out, it’s not really “milk” at all. Based on the beverage Luke Skywalker famously chugs during Star Wars: The Last Jedi, green milk is a Disney concoction that uses a dairy-free rice and coconut base to create something has more in common with a fruit smoothie than what you’d pour into a bowl of cereal. The end result is a drink that Cinemablend described as “very heavy in the citrus flavors—think oranges and grapefruits,” which sure sounds a lot more suited to southern California weather than an actual glass of milk.

With that in mind, the chili lime seasoning and mango chunks that also make up the Toydarian Swirl seem quite a bit less out of place. The end result is something that looks like a Tatooine sunset while offering a balance of sweet and spicy tastes, kind of like a family-friendly cocktail fit for a jedi.

Is it destined to be as much of a hit as churro toffee? Probably not. But if you find yourself at the Galaxy’s Edge and need something that brings the sweetness and the heat while looking highly Instagrammable, Obi Wan Kenobi would surely say that this is the drink you’re looking for.
