Dog the Bounty Hunter Says He'll 'Never Get Married' Again After His Wife's Death
Dog the Bounty Hunter is opening up about the loss of his wife, Beth Chapman.
He discussed the possibility of future relationships, and if he'll ever marry again.
Duane "Dog" Chapman is still mourning the loss of his wife, Beth Chapman. But the Dog's Most Wanted star may be open to a new relationship down the line.
Dog told People that he and Beth had discussed the possibility of him moving on before she passed away from cancer this June. The 66-year-old revealed he "probably will" date at some point.
"I told her that," he said. "What deal we said is I will never take 'Beth' off my chest, I have her name here. And I will never get married."
He continued, "And she said to me, 'We are human, okay?' And probably the same thing I'd say to her: 'I know youa€?re gonna have a boyfriend, I hope you have 10, but don't go fricking marry one, and say those words. Don't you dare do that.' I would say that, and she did say that to me."
Dog and Beth were married in 2006 after 16 years together, and the two were each other's biggest supporters, particularly through her health battle. Beth was first diagnosed with cancer in 2017, and it later returned in 2018. She continued to speak out about her illness and film with Dog though, up until her last moments.
"She said no, this is my life and I'm going to show every bit of it. So, she battled it for two years, beat it once, and then it came back very aggressive," he told Fox News. "And then she decided chemo, she did one treatment, it just about killed her. She couldn't even move her pinky. So, they said, well, you could get 16 months with chemo or 15 without it. And she said, I've got to be out there with you and the family. So, she went all the way to the end. The week before she went to heaven, she put a guy in jail."
Though he is looking toward the future, Dog has far from forgotten his longtime love.
"It's [like] a dream," he said. "You pretend like it's not happening until the very end, we didn't plan it. Her toothbrush is still in the sink."
