My Dogs Have Had Over 20 Dog Beds, and This One Still Looks Brand New After Two Years of Daily Use

It’s super easy to clean and prices start at $130 on Amazon.

I have two rescue dogs who weigh 55 and 60 pounds respectively, and over the years they’ve had more than 20 dog beds. The beds typically last only a few months before they become ripped, soiled or ruined in the washing machine. The good news is...I’ve finally found one that meets all of our expectations and has withstood the test of time.

I was graciously gifted the Newton Orthopedic Dog Bed by the brand and was surprised by the smooth fabric and supportive base. It’s easy to upkeep and both dogs love to lounge on it daily, especially since it has a raised lining that’s great for resting their heads. The bed has been in our living room for roughly two years, and my friend recently commented on how it still looks brand new even after all this time. It’s available in small, medium and large, and the large option works best for my two medium-size dogs — sometimes I even catch our cats using it!

What makes it unique compared to any other bed my dogs have tried is that it’s made with a wovenaire core that’s “90% air and 10% food-grade polymer” and made to feel like foam and latex. It provides ample amounts of support and comfort, while also helping to relieve joint pain. The cooling fabric and breathable core is designed to regulate my dogs’ temperatures to prevent overheating, which is essential for us because both of them have long, black hair that attracts heat in the summer. The best part is, you can easily hose off the core or wash it in a bathtub and it’ll dry way faster than other fabrics.

I’ll admit I was skeptical when it came time to wash the bed given that many dog beds that claim to be machine washable end up looking matted and distorted afterward. Removing the cover from the base and side cushions was simple and only took a few minutes. I washed the cover on its own in cold water using the bulky sheets setting on my machine, and then dried it on a low heat, low tumble cycle. To my surprise, the hair, odor, and stain were gone and it looked like it did when I first took it out of the package. Since then, I’ve washed the bed countless times with the same results.

I know the price range of $130–$250 seems steep, but you truly get what you pay for. After this bed inevitably becomes worn out, I plan to buy another one to replace it considering it’s lasted way longer than any other dog bed I’ve ever had.
