Doja Cat Debuts Massive Back Tattoo of a Bat Skeleton
Doja Cat said "Yuh" to a new tattoo—and it's quite a design to behold.
On May 4, the "Say So" artist took to Instagram to share a few images of her massive new ink, which features the design of a bat skeleton across her back.
While the chart topper simply captioned the upload with a bat emoji, she hinted at the tattoo's bigger meaning. Specifically, in the carousel of images, the "Need to Know" performer included a screenshot of text, which read: "Bats often represent death in the sense of letting go of the old, and bringing in the new. They are symbols of transition, of initiation, and the start of new beginning."
It didn't take long for fans to react to the design, with some applauding the artist and others joking about a conspiracy theory involving the Illuminati, a secret society.
Artist Mei Pang commented, "STUNNNNNNNNNNNNN." Meanwhile, a fan chimed in, "I just know the illuminati conspiracy theories are gonna run wild with this."
Our favorite reaction? "Doja bat," written by a fan.
Of course, this isn't the first time Doja Cat has made headlines with her risk taking looks. In fact, earlier this week, the 27-year-old rapper made a splash at the 2023 Met Gala by dressing as Karl Lagerfeld's cat, Choupette.
The songstress wore a bedazzled white Oscar de La Renta gown, which she paired with facial prosthetics that transformed her into the famous feline.
“It makes no sense for anyone to go as Karl’s cat more than Doja Cat,” Brett Alan Nelson, her creative director and stylist, told Vogue about the bold red carpet choice.
