Dolly Parton Has a Direct Message for Miley Cyrus Ahead of 2024 Grammys
Dolly Parton and Miley Cyrus
Dolly Parton sang Miley Cyrus' praises with a hopeful message ahead of the 2024 Grammy Awards.
Cyrus, 31, is nominated for six awards this year, ranging from Record of the Year to Best Pop Vocal Album, and Parton couldn't be prouder. In fact, the "9 to 5" songstress, who only recently turned 78, said she wants the former Disney Channel star to "win as many as she can."
"I really love her song ‘Flowers,’" Parton began in an interview with People published Thursday, Jan. 25. “That was a big, big song this past year, and so I hope she wins everything."
“I'm so happy for her,” she continued, “I just hope she wins as many as she can.”

As for how Parton will feel if Cyrus is pushed out of any one category by another nominee, well, it seems to be more so about the journey and not the destination.
“I'll be happy for her with whatever she does win,” she said of her goddaughter. “She's my little sweetheart. You know? My little goddaughter, so I feel very close to her.”
Though Cyrus has previously been nominated for two other Grammy awards–Best Pop Vocal Album in 2015, after the release of Bangerz, and again in 2022 for Album of the Year after collaborating with Lil Nas X, resulting in a feature for "AM I DREAMING" from the rapper's album Montero–she's never been nominated for several at once, nor has she secured the top spot. Still, she wasn't left jaded by the experience, at least not according to the "Jolene" singer.
“I know she's nervous and excited, so I hope she does good," Parton added.
To see if this is the year Cyrus finally gets her flowers, tune into the 66th Grammy Awards airing on CBS on Sunday, Feb. 4.
