Dolly Parton Releases New Pumpkin Spice Cookie Mix—Make The Recipe
I know, I know — it's only August, and the sun is still blazing down on us. But let’s be real: the allure of autumn is just too tempting to resist. Whether it’s the cozy sweaters, the crisp air or the flavor that dominates the season, pumpkin spice, we’re all secretly craving the fall vibes. And now, with the latest release from the Dolly Parton and Duncan Hines collaboration, we can officially kick off the pumpkin spice season in style. Here's what to know about the new Dolly Parton cookie mix, plus how to make a batch at home with Dolly's easy recipe.
What is the new Dolly Parton cookie mix?
The new Dolly Parton Pumpkin Spice Cookie Mix promises to deliver everything we love about fall wrapped up in a convenient package. All you need to add is an egg and half a cup of melted butter, and in just 15 minutes, you’ll have two dozen perfectly baked cookies that are, of course, Dolly-approved. Plus, the box itself comes with two easy recipes, including classic Pumpkin Spice cookies (see below) and extra special cookie cheesecake bars. The mix is now available at major supermarkets, big box retailers and even through Instacart.
If you haven't tried Pumpkin Spice, it might just be one of the more iconic fall flavors (and scents!). It has a magical blend of warm spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and ginger, which are common in many fall desserts. Though originally tied to traditional pumpkin pie recipes, the blend exploded in popularity thanks to the famous Pumpkin Spice Latte (PSL) launched by Starbucks in 2003. This now-famous drink quickly became a cultural phenomenon. Soon, food brands and chains everywhere were jumping on the pumpkin spice train, creating everything from cereals to candles.
History of the Dolly Parton baking mix line
Duncan Hines and Dolly Parton’s partnership has been a match made in baking heaven since it first began in early 2022. Back then, they delighted fans with the “Dolly’s Southern Favorites” line, which featured two cake mixes and two frostings inspired by recipes passed down through Dolly’s family. The initial offerings were such a hit that the collaboration quickly expanded. The “Baking with Dolly” collection has grown to include frozen desserts like cheesecake and chocolate pie, muffin and pancake mixes, cornbread and biscuit mixes, and even frozen macaroni and cheese.
"I loved co-creating my Duncan Hines line with Conagra, and I'm thrilled we're going well beyond the baking aisle with new items across the store," Dolly said at the time. And true to her word, the collection has continued to grow, becoming a staple in kitchens across America.
Last fall, Dolly introduced a holiday Sugar Cookie Kit. It included everything for a festive baking session: cookie mix, green frosting, holiday sprinkles and a keepsake booklet.
