Donald Trump Jr. Made a Weird Meme of His Dad
Most people celebrated Independence Day with sparklers, hot dogs, and lounging by the closest body of water. Donald Trump, Jr. was not one of those people.
Yesterday, President Trump's eldest son (the same one who used "lit" to describe Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy's retirement) took to Instagram to celebrate America's birthday and pay homage to his dad with a handful of, well, weird posts.
One of the photos Trump Jr. posted was of his dad dressed in an American Revolutionary War uniform, holding a bald eagle and a gun, and standing atop carnage while an American flag waves behind him. In the caption, Trump Jr. wrote, "This is amazing."
While some people said they would hang this poster in their kid's room, others recalled how the president dodged the Vietnam War draft five times.
And for the second photo, Trump Jr. took the Salt Bae meme - you know, the one where that sexy chef sprinkles salt on a slab of meat - and tried to turn it into the "Freedom Bae" meme. The photoshopped meme features the President in a white T-shirt and sunglasses sprinkling red, white, and blue stars into the abyss.
Trump Jr. used the caption on this post to confirm that he's purposefully trying to ruin pop culture references, like Salt Bae. "Also continuing my quest to take out pop culture terms," he wrote. Which, why.
When he took a break from attempting to ruin memes, Trump Jr. hung out with his new girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle, taking her to her first official White House event.
The two have been dating since March, which is right around the time Trump Jr. and his ex-wife Vanessa Trump announced their divorce.
While at the White House, Guilfoyle visited with veterans and active duty service members and topped off her visit with a handshake from the President. Once the sun went down, she and Trump Jr. enjoyed the fireworks and she shared the view on her Instagram Stories.
