Donald Trump Jr. shares sweet photo of his kids with their 92-year-old great-grandmother
Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of President Trump, shared a photo of his children and his grandmother that has people up in their feelings about their own grandparents and great-grandparents.
In the photo, his oldest daughter, Kai, and his sons Tristan and Donnie pose around their great-grandmother Marie Zelnickova on a sunny front porch.
Don Jr. described how fortunate he feels his children are to get to know their great-grandmother.
“They don’t likely know how lucky they are to get to know her but I do what I can to make sure they spend as much time as possible with her,” he wrote. “She was a huge influence in my life along with her husband before he passed so it’s great that the kids are getting to know her as well.”

His followers had kind words about the image, which stirred up fond memories for many.
One wrote, “I was blessed to know my great grandparents. Not many people are so lucky. Treasure every moment and good for you for encouraging a relationship. Grandparents and such are important parts of a child’s life, they bring so much love and life lessons you cannot teach your children.”
Another said, “What a priceless gift. I remember my great grandmother, my grandfathers mother. I cherish the memories.”
“I was lucky to be able to know and talk to my great-grandfather and learn directly from him what life was like in the South after the Civil War,” wrote another.
“They won’t know the true meaning of what these visits mean to them for years to come – but, believe me, your grandmother knows and loves you all the more for it,” wrote another.
Marie Zelnickova is Ivana (Zelnickova) Trump’s mother. Ivana was the president’s first wife and the mother to his eldest children, Don Jr., Eric, and Ivanka. Marie raised Ivana, who was born in 1947, with her husband, Milos, in communist-era Czechoslovakia. According to Newsweek, when Ivana was young, Marie worked as a telephone operator. At the time, parents lined up for rationed meat, sewed clothes for their children, and could buy oranges only around Christmastime, making them a special treat.
Today, at 92, Zelnickova splits her time between Zlin, in the Czech Republic, and New York.
