Donald Trump Proudly Displays Mountain of Fast Food
On Monday evening President Trump assembled a gaggle of reporters at the White House to show off an enormous buffet of fast food.
The White House hosted the Clemson Tigers football team and celebrated their national championship win by treating them to a spread of hamburgers, fries and pizza. Noted fast food gourmand President Trump seemed particularly excited to show off his 300 hamburgers, though he declined to say exactly which fast food restaurant was his favorite. (It's definitely McDonald's.)
Though an event like this would typically be catered, the government shutdown means non-essential government employees aren't working; the array of dollar menu offerings, supposedly provided at Trump's own expense, were his solution.
Could there possibly be a more obvious metaphor for our current president than a cold Big Mac laying askew on a 19th century silver tray imbued with centuries of historical importance? There could not.
