From Harper's BAZAAR

Game of Thrones' great Battle for Winterfell was the exact opposite of lit. The scenes in this episode were shot so dark, you'd be forgiven for thinking some of your favorite characters-like Jon's beloved direwolf, Ghost-did not survive.

However, a screenshot from the teaser for next week's episode proves Ghost is, in fact, alive and well at Winterfell following the battle. Praise be to the Lord of Light!

The same can be said for dragons Drogon and Rhaegal, who both seemed to receive life-threatening injuries during the battle. Yet Drogon could be seen cozying up to Daenerys in the immediate aftermath of Jorah's death, while another screenshot from the Episode 4 teaser proved Rhaegal also survived the carnage.

Of course, there were many a death during the episode. Viserion, Dany's dragon-turned-ice-dragon, finally died for good after Arya wiped out the Night King and the entire Army of the Dead with one stroke of Littlefinger's catspaw dagger.

Additionally, the show said goodbye to Melisandre; Jorah Mormont, who died defending Daenerys; Theon Greyjoy, who died defending Bran; Lyanna Mormont, who died while stabbing a wight giant to death; Beric Dondarrion, who died so Arya could live; and Eddison Tollett, who bravely died in battle.

Contrary to the many death pools floating around the Internet this week, most of the show's major characters survived the Battle of Winterfell, including Brienne, Jaime, Sam and Gilly, and Missandei and Grey Worm. But this is Game of Thrones, so don't be too surprised if they don't make it out of the season alive.

Game of Thrones airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EST on HBO.
