This Double Decker Bus Is Actually A Mini Hotel On Wheels
If you’re a big fan of quirky holiday stays then you’ll definitely want to hear about this double-decker bus hotel, located in the beautiful Devon countryside.
Listed with Sykes Holiday Cottages, the bright red converted London bus boasts 1950s interiors, a record player and its very own cocktail bar. If you’re thinking it all sounds very Agatha Christie-esque, then you’d be right – the owner is a huge fan of the crime writer and decided to theme the bus around her and her novels.
Named Bertram's Hotel after Christie's book, At Bertram's Hotel which displays a big red double decker on the cover, the bus’ other quirky elements include the shower, which is located right next to the driver’s seat with the soap where the change tray usually sits.
Bertram's Hotel’s stairway leads up to the top floor, complete with a retro kitchen, dining area, living room with a vintage TV and double bed. Elsewhere there are twin beds, while outside is an enclosed garden.
A luxurious addition to the once traditional red bus is the hot tub, which is available on request. And you don’t need to worry about getting cold, the bus has central heating!
Surrounded by a two-acre field with a herd of five grazing alpacas as well as pygmy goats, donkeys, chickens and ducks, the stay is an idyllic country retreat. Also, nearby are two fishing lakes stocked with carp, the picturesque village of Hartland and the South West Coast Path. Interested?
