Downtown Asheville restaurant to relocate, expand breakfast, dinner menus

ASHEVILLE - A Middle Eastern street food restaurant revered for its falafels is moving further downtown.

Baba Nahm is relocating from Grove Arcade at 1 Page Ave, Suite 139 to a roomier storefront at 60 Biltmore Ave., the former address of City Bakery’s downtown store, which closed in August 2023.

Baba Nahm’s co-owner Brian Smith said the restaurant, which closed July 20 in preparation for the move, is aimed to open at the new site Labor Day weekend. Labor Day is Sept. 2.

Smith said the new space, a short trek across downtown from the eatery’s original home where it opened in 2017, will allow for an expanded all-day menu.

Baba Nahm's extended offerings will include more breakfast and dinner options in addition to lunch.

Baba Nahm’s current menu at the counter-service restaurant features pitas, bowls, salads and crispy falafels.

In June, Baba Nahm ranked No. 38 on Yelp’s list of 50 spots to get a falafel fix in the U.S.
