Dr Dre deletes Instagram boast that daughter got into USC ‘all on her own’
Rapper and record producer Dr Dre has been forced to delete an online boast that his daughter won admission to the University of Southern California “all on her own”.
Writing in a post on Instagram, he had added: “No jail time!!” Truly Young, his daughter, had reposted the photo, writing, “All my hard work paid off. I’m going to film school.” Both posts were subsequently deleted.
The boasts come amid a national college admissions scandal. Celebrities Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman are two in a group of 50 people who may face charges over what prosecutors allege was a $25 million scheme to cheat college admission processes.
According to an indictment, the alleged scam involved lying about students’ athletic abilities, and helping them to cheat in entrance exams.
Dr Dre deleted his post after several commenters pointed out that he and his business partner Jimmy Iovine had donated $70 million to USC in 2013. Young followed suit. Donations of this size are not illegal in the US.
Would ya look at that. #CommentsByCelebs

Prosecutors have accused Desperate Housewives actress Huffman and her husband William H. Macy of paying $15,000 to get their daughter additional time on her SAT test.
Loughlin, who starred in Full House, and her husband Mossimo Giannulli are reportedly being accused of paying $500,000 to make it look like their daughters, one of whom is the popular YouTuber Olivia Jade, were crew athletes.
The charges carry the possibility of time in jail.
