The British footwear brand and American designer are set to release their second installment of a collaboration that was first released last month. On Thursday, the pair are releasing two new silhouettes, both featuring Martens’ DMXL sole.
The 1918 calf boot is a design that Owens has already worked with, doing a platform sole back in 2022. Now, it is available in the DMXL sole, which the brand says is one of the first designs to emerge from their experimental new design category. It combines lightweight EVA with durable PVC pods and features the Dr Martens trademark contrast yellow stitching.
Like the prior 1918 design, the boot features hooks and 18 eyelets all done in a brushed silver. The Rick Owens pearl laces come long, intended to be wrapped around the boot. The style also features an extra-tall tongue, made of the same Lunar leather as the upper.
The 1460 Jumbo Lace boot, which is the second design of the drop, is the classic 8-eye silhouette with oversized eyelets, a thick outside zip and extra-thick wrap around laces in the Owens signature pearl.

For imagery, Turkish musician Sissy Missfit returns. “I love using our collaboration to celebrate raw and ferocious self-invented abandon like that of Sissy Misfit, blasting techno with trans power,” Owens said in a statement last month about the first drop. “Dr. Martens always represented inspirational subculture to me and I like honouring that tradition.”
The images are in black and white, as most Owens campaign imagery is.
The Rick Owens X Dr. Martens 1460 Jumbo Lace boot and 1980 boot will both be released on March 7. They will be available on drmartens.com, rickowens.eu and select retail partners.
The Dr. Martens is a part of a coterie of footwear collaborations Owens has done recently. In September, he released the latest style from his Converse linkup, the DBL DRKSTAR Chuck 70, which is a double stacked Owens version of the Chuck Taylor. In addition, at his two fashion shows this year, Owens debuted inflatable shoes in collaboration with London designer Straytukay.
