Dr. Pepper’s Super Cool Crossover Is Set to Become a Summertime Staple
Dr. Pepper
Dr. Pepper debuted a tasty collaboration, and some fans are calling it a "top 3" product "of all time."
The popular soda beverage is taking on a new form as the weather heats up, joining with Blue Bell ice cream for a brand new flavor: Dr. Pepper Float.
“The best ice cream floats are made with Dr Pepper poured over a few scoops of Blue Bell,” said Jimmy Lawhorn, Blue Bell Vice President, Sales and Marketing. “Why not put a spin on this popular treat and create our own version? The flavor of Dr Pepper and texture of the sherbet combine perfectly with the smooth vanilla ice cream. You may find yourself reaching for a soda glass instead of a bowl.”
The treat first dropped in May 2023, according to the official press release, but was recently resurfaced by social media blogger Snackolater, who shared a post about the "delicious" treat via Instagram on Sunday, April 7.
"This is in stores now and features a blend of vanilla ice cream with @drpepper flavored sherbet swirl. You can find this flavor in both pint sized and half gallons," the caption read, in part.
"This is a top 3 ice cream for me of all time. I was THRILLED they came out with half pints too," one fan of the flavor commented on the upload.
Another suggested, "It's phenomenal. I recommend using this ice cream to make a Dr. Pepper float with a real sugar Dr. Pepper. You won't regret it."
"I absolutely LOVE this ice cream!!" a third wrote, while a fourth added, "Looks amazing! Definitely a must try!!!"
On the other hand, some couldn't get behind the product, with one calling it the "nastiest ice cream ever" and another echoing that sentiment with "Tried it. Big Dr. P fan but didn’t like it."
Although it was launched last year, there's no telling how much longer it'll be around, as Blue Bell's website only states it's available for purchase "through 2024."
