Dr. Pimple Popper Treats 'Milia Cysts' Like Bubble Wrap in Her Newest Clip

From Men's Health

Do you love bubble wrap? Do you find popping it weirdly therapeutic? Have you ever secretly wished those bubbles would erupt into mini-geysers of white pus? Then boy, do I have the Instagram video for you.

In her latest installment, Dr. Pimple Popper—aka, Dr. Sandra Lee—took a break from blackhead bonanzas and "coin purse" pilar cysts to treat what appears, at first glance, to be a cluster of tiny whiteheads scattered across an anonymous woman’s forehead.

One by one, with a bedside manner more chill than Bob Ross painting a happy cloud, Dr. Lee squeezes the cysts into submission using what looks to be a comedone extractor, nudging away the oozing gunk to reveal a a satisfyingly smooth patch of forehead. A clue about what those white spots really are, however, lies in the 'gram's punny caption: “There’s millions of reasons to LOVE a good ??POP??here’s a #milia more!” Lee writes.

What are milia and how do you treat them?

Milia—otherwise known as “milk spots,” for those of you who might be new to all of this (raises hand), are actually small white cysts that most commonly afflict infants, according to the Cleveland Clinic. Lots of people understandably confuse them for whiteheads, but they’re not. Comprised mostly of keratin, they can form on the surface of your skin when dead cells get stuck, as dermatologist Anjali Mahto explained to Elle.

A lot of times milia will go away on their own, but they’re also relatively easy to treat using topical solutions like cleansers and night serums. Or if that doesn't work, you could always just go to a dermatologist. But first you might want to check their Instagram following.
