“It’s an honor for Free People to partner with Dr. Scholl’s and celebrate their 100th anniversary,” Free People’s CMO Jack Reynolds told FN. “Both teams collaborated closely to create this vintage-inspired exclusive collection. Combining heritage pattern linings and vintage-dyed woods with unique hardware and detailing all on an iconic sandal, the result is a retro kitsch, city-cool style we know our customers will be very excited about!”
Kevin Braun, the designer behind the project at Dr. Scholl’s Shoes, expanded on why the two brands chose to collaborate, telling FN that “Dr. Scholl’s and Free People are brands that celebrate self-expression. The Original Sandal’s iconic look embodies nostalgia that resonates with Free People’s vintage-inspired aesthetic. Together we have created looks that evoke individuality, style, and the pursuit of effortless comfort.”
This collaboration is the first of many planned by Dr. Scholl’s to celebrate its centennial milestone and was designed with the summer festival season in mind, when sandals are a great addition to long, concert-filled days spent in the desert.
The collaboration retails for $158 and will be available at drschollsshoes.com, freepeople.com and in Free People stores starting on April 2.
