Changing vocation makes a huge difference to how Dragon’s Dogma 2 feels to play. It determines your main weapon, skills, and overall role in your party, so it’s important to choose the right one for you. You’ll start with four available vocations, which will eventually expand to six, but there are more secret ones out there for you to find.

We’ll show you where to find one such vocation, the Mystic Spearhand in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

To unlock this class you’ll need to head to Harve Village, which will be pretty run-down when you first get there in the wake of a dragon attack. Still, follow the main path all the way to the end and up a small hill, in the house there you’ll find Sigurd.

Talk to Sigurd and ask about his fighting style, at which point he’ll explain that it’s a mixture of melee and magic arts. Once you leave the conversation you’ll have unlocked the Mystic Speahand vocation. This class focuses on rapid strikes with your double-ended spear and uses fast-paced attacks with both your weapon and your magic.

There’s a chance you’ll encounter Sigurd earlier though, as there’s a chance he’ll be in Melve when you first return there after visiting Vernworth. You may not have time to become acquainted, though, as a Drake is attacking the village at the time.
