Drew Barrymore Sparks Debate With Her 'Hot Take' on Napping

Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore is often relatable on her talk show, but many of the host's fans were puzzled by one of her comments on air.

On the latest episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the actress shared a controversial opinion: "Napping pisses me off."

Guest Ross Matthews found her hot take to be hilarious, questioning while laughing, "Why?!" Barrymore explained, "If you want, like, the unsexiest thing, take a nap."

Matthews noted that those who don't like naps don't have to take them. He then asked the audience, "When you look at someone napping, doesn't that make you happy? I'll think to myself, 'Oh look, they're resting. How cute is that?'"

The 48-year-old disagreed, saying, "I'm thinking that's unproductive daytime craziness. I think it's bananas. I've never been able to nap in my life."

She then turned to the audience and wondered, "Why do I feel this way, you guys? Why do I find napping so unsexy and unappealing? Like, I must've dated a napper in another lifetime and I'm still resentful or something."

When the clip made its way to the official Drew Barrymore Show Instagram account, fans voiced their disagreement.

"Drew…no. Love you but no! Naps are productive sometimes if that’s what’s needed. Hence the existence of the siesta. Girl ??," wrote a fan.

Another opined, "Surprising to hear this from Drew - seems uncharacteristically judgemental. Take a nap or don’t - it’s not hurting anyone!"

A commenter pointed out how privileged Barrymore is to have this opinion, sharing, "I feel its weird for celebrities to say they hate normal stuff. I work 3 jobs i must nap since i cant sleep."

However, a couple fans agreed with the Never Been Kissed star's statement.

"Omg drew same feelings!! Hahahah not a mapper [sic] and hate when other people nap - I feel like they are wasting time," someone wrote.

Another person commented, "Lmao ???? low low key I agree, I can't stand it when people who have no medical condition sleep too much ??????."
