Yet again, we’re so tired of parent shamers. It’s 2023, and people still have to deal with this? Let our 2024 resolutions be to chill out, and not shame parents for their choices (especially when it comes to how they handle social media with their kids)! And we especially want parent shamers to get off of Drew Scott’s page.

On Dec 8, the It Takes Two co-author shared a series of photos to his Instagram of himself, his wife Linda Phan, and their son Parker. He shared the photos with the caption reading, “It’s almost time to bust out our matching jammies again! (I may or may not have worn them all year…)???? #Throwback.”

In the first photo, we see the family of three cuddled up in their matching green holiday pajamas, Parker cuddling up to his mama! Then we get a snapshot of Drew holding Parker by the Christmas tree, and a pic of Phan smiling from ear to ear as she cuddles Parker. This should’ve been just a super-sweet throwback of the family, who are clearly ready to celebrate this year’s holiday festivities, but of course, trolls ruined it.

One troll commented, “Does anyone know why they don’t show babies face ?? It makes me think he could be Down syndrome ??” First off, what’s wrong with Down Syndrome? Literally nothing, so already, it’s not a comment that should’ve been spoken. And secondly, we’ve said it once and we’ll say it a thousand times: it’s abundantly clear Scott and Phan want to keep their son’s face private! And they have every right to do so!

Another troll repeated the first sentiments, saying, “never saw this child? I wonder if he has something wrong with him? I also never see him either with family just the mother and father? Very strange?” Hint: it’s not.

Many parents, and many celebrity parents at that, hide their kids’ faces on their public social media accounts; whether it be obstructing it with an emoji or hiding their face altogether. It’s their choice, and there’s literally nothing wrong with it.

It’s clear Scott and Phan are loving being parents (and we love seeing them be such loving parents to their son)! The two met at a Toronto Fashion Week event in 2010, hitting it off soon after. They later married in 2018. After 12 years together, they welcomed their son Parker James, 1, in May 2022, specifically on their fourth wedding anniversary.
