Dua Lipa Makes Relationship With French Director Red Carpet Official
Dua Lipa made her relationship with new boyfriend Romain Gavras red carpet official.
Though paparazzi have photographed the pair together various times, the couple only made their red carpet debut at the Cannes screening of Omar La Fraise (The King of Algiers). The "Levitating" singer opted for a one-strap Celine dress featuring cutouts on her chest and abdomen and an exposed back that showed off her tattoos. Gavras went with a classic suit from Dior.
The couple posed on the red carpet, embracing each other while giving loving glances. They also were photographed holding hands while chatting.
Lipa shared even more images of the two on Instagram, and their chemistry is certainly palpable.
Gavras is the son of famed Greek-French filmmaker Costa Gavras and followed in his dad's footsteps, becoming a director. He primarily directs music videos, including M.I.A.'s iconic one for "Bad Girls," which won an MTV Video Music Award in 2012.
The 41-year-old has also received three Grammy nominations for his music video directing: Best Music Video for Jamie XX's "Gosh"; Best Short Form Music Video for "Bad Girls"; and Best Short Form Music Video for Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Frank Ocean's "No Church in the Wild."
Gavras and Lipa's romance was first reported in February when the singer was spotted leaving a BAFTAs party holding hands with the director. That month, a source told The Sun that "Dua and Romain have been quietly getting to know each other for several months."
Gavras had previously dated Rita Ora in 2021, who is now married to Taika Waititi. Lipa, 27, also experienced a breakup that year with Anwar Hadid after more than two years together. This marks her first relationship since.
